My Chemical Romance’s Reunion Gig Grossed Almost $1,500,000 – A Record For The Shrine

My Chemical Romance’s reunion show broke a huge record for the venue.

Not only was My Chemical Romances epic December 20 reunion show one of the biggest nights in rock ever, it was also absolutely huge for the venue they performed at: The Shrine in Los Angeles.

In fact, the gig – which was seven years in the making and sold out instantly – grossed a total of $1,451,745 according to the band’s agency Paradigm, making it the highest-ever grossing concert at the venue. Not only did it break records in that regard, it has also been reported that merch sales were unsurprisingly also amongst The Shrine’s highest. That’s amazing dedication from the MCRmy, right there.

Speaking to Variety late last year, Paradigm’s Matt Galle said of how the show came about in the first place: They had been getting offers for [the last] seven to eight years, and had been talking for a while and trying to figure out the right time, and 2019 was a year that that made sense to them. They had some backstory with their [2010 album] Danger Days. They knew they wanted to do one show and now it’s kind of taken on a life of its own. I think they’re excited about the demand and the response and what else is coming for next year.”

Indeed, My Chem have several more worldwide performance planned for 2020 – with a suspected UK show teased, too. While we await more news on that front, check out My Chemical Romance’s legendary Shrine gig in full, courtesy of one very dedicated fan, Jayzeus Hayes:
