Now Hear This: Pupil Slicer's Kate Davies on the best new hardcore, tech-metal and cyber-grind
Pupil Slicer's Kate Davies brings you the new bands you need to check out now, including THØTCRIME, Burner and 156/Silence.
Pittsburgh metalcore crew 156/Silence's sixth album is on the way and they're celebrating with a pulsing new single, No Arms.
156/Silence have announced a new album, From A Distance, and shared its lead single No Arms.
The atmospheric metalcore crew are releasing the follow-up to 2024’s People Watching on September 4 via Pure Noise.
To celebrate, they’ve dropped a new single No Arms, which the band explain is about “being without a way to protect yourself and what belongs to you.
“Being alone and afraid, not having any means to control the situations that befall on us. The overwhelming feeling of being helpless until we’re not. Until somebody saves us," they say.

If you like what you hear, 156/Silence will be in the UK and Europe later in 2026 opening for The Devil Wears Prada.
