YONAKA drop out of US shows with Charlotte Sands
YONAKA are no longer making it to the US to open for Charlotte Sands, which they say is for both financial and logistical reasons.
Help out a metal legend while he recovers and won't be able to work.
A fundraiser has been set up to help legendary British metal journalist and Kerrang! alumnus Dom Lawson, after he suffered a heart attack this past weekend.
In a post on Instagram, Dom revealed that he was in hospital being looked after, having fallen ill at Bloodstock. In typical fashion, he made sure to rabbit about a load of bands first.
"I wouldn’t normally share private info, but I’m in hospital and very bored so forgive me the self-indulgence (and nipple)," he wrote.
"Had a wonderful time at Bloodstock as usual. Nevermore gave me all-over goosebumps. Castle Rat were epic. Shining made my brain spin. Celestial Sanctuary were godly and crushing. STP (not that one) were a revelation. Municipal Waste will *still* fuck you up. And so on.
"Unfortunately, I had a heart attack on Sunday and was rushed to hospital. Managed to avoid dying, so that was a good start. Looks like I will be having some kind of surgery in the near future. Close shave but you won’t get rid of me that easily. Huge thanks to our brilliant NHS, and particularly the Welfare tent folk at Bloodstock who could not have been more fabulous. Charlotte and my kids have been beyond wonderful too. Big love to those who heard the news and reached out (especially Alan!). Life’s a funny old cunt, isn’t it? Also, heart attacks fucking hurt. Would not recommend."
One of his mates has set up a fundraiser to help Dom and his family while he recuperates and is unable to work. You can throw some money his way now. Everyone at K! wishes Dom a speedy and full recovery.
