“Mind the doors!”: Check out Green Lung’s sinister new rock ’n’ roll single, Necropolitan Line
"Is there a more fitting subject for a Green Lung song than a real-life train line that carried corpses across London?” they ask. Absolutely not.
Green Lung celebrate occult rock and the spookiest haunts in London on their new single, Black Magick Radio, which they first played live during the eclipse yesterday (of course).
After delighting the punters at Bloodstock this past weekend with their ingenious mascot, Goaty, Green Lung have a wicked new tune out called Black Magick Radio.
They played it for the first time on stage at Summer Breeze last night, which conveniently happened to fall during the eclipse.
In the song, they nod to London proto-goth landmarks such as the Soho cafe Le Macabre and The Process Church of the Final Judgement, a pre-Manson cult based in Mayfair). It taps into the themes of their upcoming album, Necropolitan, which arrives on September 11 via Nuclear Blast.
“Black Magick Radio is our love letter to occult rock itself, and a promise to spread its gospel as widely as we possibly can,” the band say. “All together now… Eko Eko Azarak, Eko Eko Zomelak…"

Green Lung have also announced some record signings for the weekend of the album release. They’ll be coming to London’s Rough Trade East on September 11, then head to HMV Manchester the next day. They’ll also come to Birmingham’s HMV Vault on September 13 and finish in Bristol at Rough Trade on September 14. You might even get the chance to take a selfie with Goaty…
