Fresh from Saturday night's incredible gig headlining The Roundhouse as part of this year's Desertfest, Green Lung have announced that they'll be returning to Camden's biggest venue in December as part of an enormous European headlining run in support of their forthcoming Necropolitan album.
They'll be joined on the run by stoner metal legends High On Fire and pointy-hatted Belgian riffsters Gnome.
The band announced Necropolitan last week with lead single Evil In This House. Talking to Kerrang! for this week's cover, singer Tom Templar and guitarist Scott Black explained that the record's setting is the hidden occult corners of London, and the capital's famous Magnificent Seven cemeteries.
“People think of folklore as a rural thing, and it's not. It's absolutely not,” Tom told us. “I can’t think of a more occult city, except maybe Paris. You're never really more than a few streets away from something truly arcane and weird, because there's such a deep history here.”
“It's quite a clever sidestep from Tom,” added Scott. “We've ploughed that folklore furrow quite deeply by now. There's always been quite a big crossover in terms of British horror and that kind of Victoriana, but no-one’s really writing songs about it. They weren't writing songs about Nunhead Cemetery.”
Necropolitan is released on September 11. The band play Manchester Academy with Acid Bath and Conan on June 25, with the headlining tour kicking off on December 3.
