Bloodstock announced its first bands for 2027 right after Municipal Waste performed at this year's event, confirming Mercyful Fate, Electric Callboy and Motionless In White as headliners.
Bloodstock has announced its first batch of bands for 2027, and if we say so ourselves, this is already looking like a proper drool-worthy line-up.
As per tradition, the first announcement for next year took place on the Ronnie James Dio Stage, right after Municipal Waste’s performance.
Friday night will see the return of Mercyful Fate to the Ronnie James Dio stage, who last headlined in 2022.
“Mercyful Fate is honored and looking extremely forward to playing BLOODSTOCK again, last time was awesome, and this time with a brand new album out, FINALLY!!!” they say.
Saturday night will see a complete vibe change, as Electric Callboy - who dropped their new album Tanzneid today - are coming to make their Bloodstock debut as headliners.
“Our first ever Bloodstock. Heavy music, questionable outfits, and thousands of metalheads? Sounds like a perfect fit to us. We’re in. See you there!” Callboy say.
Headlining on Sunday are Motionless In White. Funnily enough, vocalist Chris Motionless told us earlier this week that Motionless would have one UK show in their diary for 2027, but “not the show I think most people would assume.” What a great surprise!
“Bloodstock! We were told that we are one of the most requested bands to perform at your legendary festival, so it is with great honor to announce that we are answering the call and will be seeing you next year for our first ever European festival headlining show, and only UK show of 2027! Thank you so much! Let the countdown begin,” Chris says.
Bloodstock have also confirmed the headliners for the Sophie Lancaster stage: Madball on Thursday, Gaerea on Friday and Kanonfieber on Saturday. Meanwhile, finishing the whole fest off on Sunday are Metalocalypse icons Dethklok.
On top of this, they’ve also got special guests on the Ronnie James Dio each day. Friday has Acid Bath, Green Lung take the slot on Saturday, and Children Of Bodom are coming to honour the legacy of Alexi Laiho on Sunday.
Also playing are Devildriver, Corrosion of Conformity, Imminence, Wind Rose, Sylosis, Decapitated, Witch Club Satan, Hammerfall, Hypocrisy, The Halo Effect, Tortured Demon, Gutalax, Humanity’s Last Breath and Conan.
Completing the first wave are a handful more bands for the Sophie Lancaster Stage: Dool, Pig Destroyer and Fulci. Bit good, right?
Fans who are currently at Bloodstock can buy their early bird ticket for next year at a slightly cheaper price on-site from the festival box office. The general on-sale will kick off on Monday (August 10) at 9am.
Bloodstock will return to Catton Park from August 5-8, 2027.
