Avenged Sevenfold surprise release new electronic-leaning EP, Statica

Avenged Sevenfold have dropped a new four-track EP called Statica with no prior warning.

Made up of the songs Lights, Statica, Rejoice and Ashes, it represents a leap into adventurous new pastures for A7X, in which they channel their experimental streak into an electronic-soaked whirl of madness. There’s robotic vocals and layers of synths that might prick up the ears of EDM fans, and it stands as a completely unique addition to the Avenged back catalogue.

The band have not said a word about the new EP as of yet, meaning fans only got word it had come out by finding their artist page on streaming services. It follows up their 2023 album Life Is But A Dream… and the standalone single Magic, which dropped in December as part of the Season 01 patch for Black Ops 7.

Avenged Sevenfold are about to kick off a North American co-headline run with Good Charlotte, which will conclude with them taking on the 24,000-capacity BMO Stadium in Los Angeles with A Day To Remember in tow. Later in the year, they’ll play their first Australia and New Zealand shows in 12 years.
