Fresh from announcing a very intimate (and already sold out, obvs) show at London’s Lafayette for BRITs Week, beabadoobee has been unveiled as the final ambassador for Independent Venue Week 2023.

An annual weeklong celebration of some of these shores’ best independent rooms, beabadoobee enthuses of the venture: “I’m extremely proud to be an Ambassador of Independent Venue Week. These venues are so important at giving young emerging artists a starting point in their career.

“I will never forget my first gig at The Boileroom in Guildford where I jumped onstage with my friends for three songs, or my first proper beabadoobee headline show at the Old Pancras Church in King’s Cross. My first and earliest gigs will always be some of my most precious memories.

“We need to do our best to keep these venues up and running and I want to help shine a light on how important independent venues really are to artists’ careers.”

Bea joins Radiohead’s Philip Selway, Young Fathers and Adwaith as ambassadors this year. Her show at Lafayette takes place on February 3 before her first-ever European headline tour in March. Then she’ll cross the pond to support Taylor Swift in stadiums in America.
