French hardcore experimentalists Birds In Row have announced details of their forthcoming album, Gris Klein.

Following 2018's sensational We Already Lost The World LP, the art-punks' new full-length was crafted during lockdown following a European tour with blackgaze pioneers Alcest.

Speaking about the record, the band say the underlying concept is simply to love each other. "We really want people to know that they’re not alone, and that they can count on each other," they explain in a collective statement.

Written during such an unpredictable and uncertain period of isolation, mental health struggles weigh heavy on the record, as does the ongoing culture war and sociopolitical upheaval. Discussing new single Nympheas, the band say it is “an ode to those who keep fighting when we don't have the energy to anymore, or never have had it, especially when facing political issues that are increasingly more visible.”

Gris Klein is released on October 14 via Red Creek Recordings.
