Bullet For My Valentine are eyeing an early 2027 release for their eighth album, which they’re working on as we speak.

Drummer Jason Bowld gave an update on the album’s progress during an interview on the podcast Drum Dog, confirming that he had just finished recording his parts. He also suggests that the band will start drip-feeding new music this year in advance of the album landing.

“It’s gonna be finished probably by June,” he says. “And then we’re looking to release it in January [of 2027]. We need to time it right and build up promo and have five singles, maybe, before it comes out — one every month — and build it up. ‘Cause once the machine starts, that’s it for 14, 18 months. We’re off then. And it has to be set up right.”

The album will be Bullet For My Valentine’s follow-up to their 2021 self-titled effort.

Bullet notably curtailed their touring plans with Trivium earlier than planned last year in order to turn their efforts to working on new music.

The bands were playing their respective albums The Poison and Ascendancy in full for their 20th anniversary and took them on the road across the UK, Europe and North America on the Poisoned Ascendancy tour. However, despite there being plans for the tour to come to Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, the tour came to an early end in May 2025.

Bullet explained in a statement that “the four of us collectively feel that the time is right for us to divert our full attention towards the next chapter of Bullet For My Valentine.

“We can’t wait to get back in the studio later this summer and finish what we promise you is our best album to date,” they added. “To go along with this, we are already starting to make plans for the 2026 and 2027 touring cycles, hitting every corner. We are super excited to drop new music for you all. We value our fans above all else and are forever grateful for your support. We’ll be back with all of you very soon.”
