Don Broco are stepping in to replace Alkaline Trio as the Thursday headliners at next week’s 2000trees.

Just hours before they were meant to take to the stage in Birmingham last night (July 3), Trio announced they were cancelling their entire UK tour after vocalist-guitarist Matt Skiba’s health took a turn for the worse.

"We are immensely sorry but we must cancel our dates in England, including tonight's show in Birmingham, due to medical issues Matt has been suffering from that have worsened," say the band in a statement. "He's gonna be okay but needs to be treated stateside as soon as possible.

"We will be back healthier and stronger!"

Just hours later, 2000trees confirmed Don Broco will be back to headline Trees for the second time, having first topped the bill in 2024.

“It's been a whirlwind of a day but we're buzzing to have these guys return to the Main Stage next week,” the 2000trees team say on their Instagram. “This band are total heroes for stepping in at the 11th hour to help us out (putting the DON in DON BROCO), and we know they're gonna belt it into the stratosphere...... two years ago they put on one of the biggest headline sets Upcote has ever seen, and now they're gonna one up it. This will be one helluva show.

“Now please excuse us while we go and have a lay down and a stiff drink - we found out about Alkaline Trio literally a few hours ago, and we pulled out all the stops to sort out your Thursday headliner as soon as possible, from the middle of a field no less. Thanks for bearing with + let's get the party started!!”
