In pictures: Dave Grohl brings The Storyteller to London theatre
Ahead of the release of his first-ever (and very much long-awaited) book The Storyteller on October 5, Dave Grohl hit London’s beautiful Savoy Theatre on September 27 to bring some of its pages to life across a brilliant two-and-a-half hour show.
Having rehearsed this one-man performance for five days beforehand, the Foo Fighters legend’s charming and compelling set brought laughs, tears and even several musical performances between many spoken-word segments – likely inspired by Springsteen On Broadway.
From drumming on his own teeth (yes, really) and pillows to a mind-blowing play-through of Smells Like Teen Spirit, to beautiful acoustic renditions of the likes of Best Of You and Everlong, Dave perfectly combined his musical history with his endlessly engaging storyteller side, giving those fans lucky enough to be there the perfect taste of what’s to come from his memoir with incredible, once-in-a-lifetime stories and hilarious throwback photos.
