God Damn have shared a slimey new video for their latest single, Drop Me Off Where They Clean The Dead Up.

The track is taken from the band's upcoming album Raw Coward (which is due out on September 10 via One Little Independent Records), with frontman Thomas Edwards explaining that it "actually started as a pulsating drum machine, guitar and mellotron demo, we toyed with keeping it as is and not putting real drums on there but we wanted to explore the option. Ash said to me, 'I think I’m gonna put a disco beat on it.' I actually wanted to be sick at the thought of that – it’s not 2007 and we’re not in that disco indie band anymore, we’re a big fat greebo band.

"But when it came to me recording him in the lock-up and he was like, 'Think Nine Inch Nails,' then I totally got it, really brought the song to life and I was hooked. Add Shem and Rob’s spooky synth shit and we’ve got our dark, pop-goth, fuzz rock song nailed to the fucking cross, mate!"

Of the single's accompanying video – which is inspired by Ghostbusters (duh) and features a cameo by comedian Joe Lycett – Thomas continues: "It’s about feeling like you’ve given up ages ago, you’re dead, nothing matters and you might as well push some buttons, do what you want and have a good fucking time. The video is by our Brum mate Tat Vision, we love his oddball brand of nostalgic, dystopian humour, his whole aesthetic is silly with that dark edge and we mashed together quite nicely in this video."
