Gwen Stefani never saw this coming…

Denver, Colorado's Green Druid have been blowing our collective mind with their brilliant new video series, Will It Doom?, in which they “doomify” non-doom-metal rock songs such as Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song and The Knack’s My Sharona. But now they’ve taken the concept a step further by adding a heavy, doomy twist to a danceable pop classic: No Doubt’s Hella Good. And Kerrang! has obtained the exclusive on the premiere of the video below.

“Will It Doom? was never intended to be taken seriously,” admits Green Druid guitarist Graham Zander. “Even so, we made a point of only choosing songs we actually liked and thought translated well. Hella Good is arguably the silliest song we picked, but we ended up being really surprised with how heavy it turned out.”

Heavy, indeed. The song – which is actually more of an excerpt, including a slowed down, detuned, minor-keyed version of the verse and chorus – is more brutal and powerful than either of the Will It Doom? covers before it. It is, in a word, terrifying.

Check it out below:

More than just your average stoner and/or doom metal band, Green Druid is no stranger to brilliant, comedic gimmicks. Just a few months ago, the band hosted its own Weed Olympics via its Instagram page, pitting various marijuana strains against one another in a sativa showdown. In a similar vein, they also have some really, really, psychedelic music videos

But when you’re done slowly (ever… so… slowly) banging your head to their brand new song, you're going to want to check out Green Druid’s monolithic debut album, Ashen Blood:
