When Sydney Sprague released her debut album – the excellently-titled maybe I will see you at the end of the world – we were all in lockdown, celebrating new music from our favourite artists alone at home. It’s no wonder, then, that to mark the release of 4/5-rated follow-up Somebody In Hell Loves You, the Phoenix singer-songwriter wanted to make it a proper party.

Sydney and her fans hit Zia Records in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday, September 23 to celebrate all things Somebody In Hell Loves You, performing with her band and signing copies of the record. She tells Kerrang! that it “really just the perfect way to celebrate the album release”, and praises the record store for being “such an essential pillar of the Arizona music community”.

“They’ve been so supportive of me and my songs – even before my first LP,” Sydney enthuses. “It feels like tradition at this point and I wouldn’t have it any other way! My last album came out during COVID, so it was really awesome to be able to do an in-person event this time. I loved getting to talk to people about their thoughts on the new record in real life. It was very special to me. Thank you so much to the Zia family for having me!”
