Jane's Addiction Frontman Perry Farrell Announces His First Solo Album In 18 Years

Today, on his 60th birthday, Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros frontman Perry Farrell announced that he will be releasing his first solo record in 18 (18! Eighteen.) years. The album will be called Kind Heaven, and it’ll be out on June 7.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, you can listen to the first single off the record, entitled Pirate Punk Politician, right here:

The album is his first since 2001’s Song Yet To Be Sung, and once again features a collective of musicians Perry calls Perry Farrell’s King Heaven Orchestra. It features collaborations with George Harrison’s son Dhani Harrison, the Cars’ Elliot Easton, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, and others, and was co-produced by Perry and David Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti.
