Big Truck - the new project from Soft Play’s Laurie Vincent - have announced their debut album Midday At The Middleway and shared the dreamy single Collided.

Laurie unveiled the project earlier this year with the single Central Reservation Blues, which also appears on the new album. Midday At The Middleway will arrive on August 28 via Marshall Records.

To celebrate, they’ve also released the single Collided, which Laurie says is “one of my favourite songs on the record.”

“My musicianship is quite untrained, and I didn’t even realise I was writing it in 6/8 time,” he explains. “That’s the kind of stuff that’s been allowed to shine on this record, because it’s a full band and Sam [Coppin]’s jazz background helps those moments to work.”

Sam adds: “Collided has this quality that I think is a snapshot into how good Laurie is. It scratches the surface of what he is going to reveal as a result of this project.”
