Listen to Lauran Hibberd’s “torturously relatable” new single

Ahead of next month’s second album girlfriend material, Lauran Hibberd has unveiled a brand-new single – and she describes this one as “torturously relatable”.

Entitled 2nd prettiest girl (in the world), the track is based on a real event – or, as Lauran herself says, an “unfortunate true story”. Though, she adds, these kinds of situations can also make for good music…

“I went on a date last year, and was told I was the second prettiest girl in the room,” she explains. “I actually said thank you (I need help). I started writing this song the next day. It became my personality. This has been one of my personal favourites on my new album girlfriend material for ages, it’s torturously relatable.”

girlfriend material is due out on March 22 via Virgin Music.
