Slayer reveal one final U.S. festival date, headlining Aftershock 2024
Slayer announce “one last U.S. 2024 festival date”, joining Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Mötley Crüe atop the absolutely massive Aftershock bill this October.
We've all been there.
Any music fan with a car knows the drill: you're driving down the highway, minding your own business, when your favorite tracks comes on. Suddenly, your foot hammers on the gas, your hands tighten around the steering wheel, and you're barreling down the asphalt praying that you don't go flying past a cop.
According to Canadian site Kelowna Now, one metalhead from Manitoba, Canada, had that experience but he wasn't so lucky and got pulled over for driving at 145kmh (approximately 90 mph). But rather than bow his head, apologize, and make up a story about his wife giving birth, the dude showed admirable stones and told the cop that Mötley Crüe's Kickstart My Heart was to blame.
The Royal Mounted Police of Manitoba put the following on their Facebook:
There are so many amazing things to unpack in this post – the guy got pulled over for speeding to the Crüe, he told the cop that it was because of the Crüe… and the cop was ALSO listening to Mötley Crüe! Truly amazing.
You can't make this shit up, it just needs to happen, like an eclipse.
Anyway, kudos to the speeder for owning up to the power of metal. Hopefully, if he sends the band a receipt for his $639 CAN speeding ticket, they'll offer to pay it (hey, it pays to dream).
