The Big Review: Slam Dunk 2026
Hotter than Hell! Slam Dunk celebrates its 20th birthday with a scorcher, soundtracked by Good Charlotte, Knocked Loose, Malevolence, Stand Atlantic and a truckload more!
After becoming unwell in Luxembourg, Malevolence's Alex Taylor has confirmed he had an emergency operation and has to sit out of their remaining European shows while he recovers.
Malevolence vocalist Alex Taylor will be missing the rest of the band’s European dates after an emergency operation.
The band previously said on their social media that he became unwell in Luxembourg earlier this week and they had to cancel their planned appearance in Germany at Vainstream’s preshow.
Alex has now expanded more on what it means for the rest of Malev’s European tour.
“Yo everyone. First of all I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has checked in./sent a nice message over the last 24 hours. They were all really appreciated!" he writes on Instagram.
“I ended up having to have an emergency operation yesterday and the good news is the operation went well and I’m being discharged today.
“Unfortunately it does mean that I won’t be able to play the final shows of our summer tour as I’m told I need to rest up and heal.
“Malevolence will still be playing these remaining shows! The lads have kindly agreed to step up and finish this tour without me and we will be enlisting the help of some friends to make sure these shows are as sick as they can possibly be! As always the crowd is an integral part of any Malevolence performance so I’m counting on you lot to go down and set it the fuck off!
“I’ll be back on my feet in no time, love to you all.”
The band’s remaining shows include shows at Jera On Air in the Netherlands and Copenhagen’s Copenhell this weekend.
The entire Kerrang! team sends our love and well wishes to Alex at this time.
