blink-182's Mark Hoppus Has A New Project On The Way

Exciting news! While blink-182 are currently hard at work on a new album, it looks like bassist Mark Hoppus has something else up his sleeve, too…

Stopping by LA’s iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO 2019 this weekend to take his son to watch twenty one pilots, the musician was briefly interviewed by LiveXLive: Premium Live Music at the event, and asked if he had a new musical project on the way.

“I do, yes,” Mark replied. “I’m not at liberty to talk about it tonight. But you will find out about it very soon. Yes, you’re right – you’re not supposed to say something yet!”

The bassist then turned talk back to his pop-punk day job, adding: “blink is in the studio right now writing our next record. Very excited about that. And we are planning some live shows that are going to be announced very soon. So blink is still in full-blast mode.”

Mark isn't the only blink-182 member dipping his toes into other projects at the moment; drummer Travis Barker has reportedly been helping Korn out on their new record – the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2016’s The Serenity Of Suffering. All in all, then, there's a lot of good stuff to come from the members of blink this year.

Watch Mark's interview below.

While we patiently for more news on the project, here's a loving tribute to Mark, because he's just a bloody great guy, isn't he?
