Megadeth to screen Behind The Mask in cinemas next month: “Let’s fire this up… and pass the popcorn!”
Megadeth: Behind The Mask will hit over 1,000 cinemas in January, and will feature a full early-listen of the band’s forthcoming final album…
Ahead of its January release, take a quick look at Megadeth’s forthcoming ‘cinematic legacy event’, Behind The Mask.
Megadeth have released the first trailer for their upcoming movie experience, Behind The Mask.
The film – which arrives in cinemas on Thursday, January 22, one day before their final-ever studio album – will help tell the story of the thrash metallers’ 40-year career, along with Dave Mustaine’s track-by-track guide to the new record. Oh yeah, and most importantly of all, you’ll be able to hear the whole album in advance, too…
“This listening event is going to be amazing,” Dave previously teased. “ I can’t wait to share it with thousands of my closest friends around the world. I have so much gratitude for everyone who helped bring this film to life, especially you, the fans! Now let’s fire this up… and pass the popcorn!”
Speaking to Kerrang! last month about eventually bringing Megadeth to an end, but doing a proper (and we really do mean proper) farewell run, the frontman promised: “We’re easily talking about touring for another three to five years. And if we’re going to be doing it for that long then, shit, I’ll be looking at the birthday I don’t even want to think about!”
