Ozzy Osbourne Reaches Highest-Ever Solo Position In UK Charts

While Ozzy Osbourne is already eyeing up the studio to record another solo album, The Prince Of Darkness can take a breather and enjoy the success of his just-released 12th full-length, Ordinary Man.

The record – which marks Ozzy's first new music in a decade – secured the Number Three position in the UK Album Chart (just losing out to South Korean sensation BTS, and Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi), with sales of the album topping its predecessor, 2010's Scream.

Likewise, Ordinary Man has also reached third in the Billboard 200 Chart in America, with an impressive 77,000 units shifted (65,000 of which are album sales).

Speaking to Kerrang! about the making of Ordinary Man and how it was a welcome distraction from his well-documented health struggles, Ozzy said: “We’d bounce the fucking melodies around until something came up, and we’d just go with it. It was fun. And it was so fucking good to be doing something. Because I’d be lying in bed going, ‘That’s it, I’m never gonna walk again,’ and this got me doing something and feeling good. And it was simple, it felt more like recording a fucking jam session. It’s not like a Pink Floyd thing where you’ve got to take a tab of acid to enjoy it – just crank the fucking thing. Go for it!”

In an interview with iHeart Radio’s Eddie Pappani last month, Ozzy also revealed, “I’m hoping that next month I’ll go and do another album with Andrew [Watt, Ordinary Man producer]. I might as well, while I’m not doing gigs.”

Bring it on…
