Papa Roach Troll Donald Trump With Last Resort Lyrics

Twitter was won by the one and only Papa Roach last night. Not by sharing a new song or video, but by using their own lyrics to poke fun at the President Of The United States.

In one of his signature ALL CAPS tweets, President Trump said: "NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION, TOTAL EXONERATION. DEMOCRAT WITCH HUNT!"

Which, to those of a certain age, sounds like the opening of a nu-metal angst anthem. And not just any anthem...

In the now-viral tweet, Jacoby Shaddix and co. mocked Trump's message by turning it into the iconic words of their 2000 smash Last Resort.

At the time of writing, Papa Roach's tweet has been retweeted over 91,000 times and liked by more than 285,000 people.

Gaining over 2,700 replies, it seems that Papa Roach's fans appreciated the joke.

"Ok everybody let’s go home, Papa Roach won the internet today." tweeted Cecilia. "We can close Twitter now. The best tweet has been made." agreed Ghostfeeder.

Last Resort was the band's breakthrough hit, released in 2000 from their debut album Infest. Earlier this year, Papa Roach announced they would be celebrating the album's two-decade anniversary in on April 25, 2020. We're not sure how yet, but probably more than tweeting.

In the same interview, Shaddix discussed the impact and influence of Last Resort.

“Our first single, Last Resort, was about… One of my best friends, he tried to kill himself. We lived in a house together. I’m 17 years old, and my best friend tried to kill himself. And it was a traumatic experience. I sing the song from a first-person point of view just to make it… this is how I write music. It’s just crazy how many people have used that song as a source of strength.

“This music is purpose-driven, and I know that there’s a reason why I’m here on this planet creating music and creating art with my brothers in Papa Roach.”
