After recently wrapping up touring for good, Porno For Pyros are now also saying farewell with one final song.

Entitled Fingernail, the Robert Adam Stevenson-produced track follows a string of reunion singles from the Los Angeles legends… but it also marks the closing of this chapter of their long and eventful story.

Speaking about the single, frontman Perry Farrell shares, “Written nearly 30 years ago, the moment the melody touched the words I knew it would be a special song, but I was too immature to understand the essence fully.

“There is no pain in the cutting of our hair, eyelashes or a fingernail, because they are dead, although the world at every instant is renewed. The death invested within us is pushed out, and the soul is again restored.”

In an interview with Kerrang! last November in which he spoke about the reasons for bringing Porno For Pyros back again just to say goodbye, Perry explained, “It makes my job easier because it all comes from music. If the music was to go silent, it seems like all forward motion would start to cease as well. They say these days it’s all about the algorithm… some of my friends are putting out albums’ worth of material – an obnoxious amount of music – looking to stimulate their algorithms. This is not that whatsoever.”
