Queens Of The Stone Age are back with their first new single in three years, Easy Street.

Although it’s their first release since their 2023 album In Times New Roman, the song has been kicking about for a while and has been played live for a couple of years on their Catacombs-related tour dates.

The chilled-out country track is a duet with Nikki Law, whose 2022 album Denim & Diamonds was produced by QOTSA mainman Josh Homme.

“It’s kind of a funny song. It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny,” Josh reveals. “We made it the way you’d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren’t great, but they’re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can’t fake.”

He adds: “It’s not just about silliness. It’s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.”

Queens Of The Stone Age are playing their second London date in support of System Of A Down tonight and will then be out on the road again across North America with Foo Fighters.

Josh has also popped up on the new Mastodon single Snakes For Dinner, which dropped earlier this week and marks his first collaboration with them since 2006.
