Having grown up with posters of blink-182 on his wall, for emo SoundCloud rapper nothing, nowhere., getting to spend a week writing and recording with drummer Travis Barker would be a dream come true. So, it’s perhaps no wonder the duo’s collaborative EP Bloodlust feels like another world. From start to finish it envelops you in its hazy, muted soundscapes.

Like a sonic electric blanket, it leaves you feeling warm, comforted, and overwhelmingly nostalgic for ‘00s emo, which inspires the six-track effort heavily. nothing, nowhere. refuses to contain himself to any one genre, though, and standout number Destruction (to which All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth also lent a hand) seamlessly fuses rock and trap, while songs like True Love and Back2You come heavy on the rap.

With such an impressive mix of relevance and nostalgia, plus Travis’ trademark beats scattered throughout, Bloodlust is nothing short of a treat.

Verdict: 4/5
