Listen to Shelf Lives’ new single, like heR
“It’s for anyone who has had their joy stolen by the comparison gremlin…” Shelf Lives have unveiled a brand-new single, like heR.
Taken from next month’s debut album Hypernormal, Shelf Lives have dropped a new single which hears them “leaning into the collapse…”
Shelf Lives have shared a brand-new single and video, frissoN.
The track is taken from the London duo’s debut album Hypernormal, which drops on February 25 via Not Sorry Mom Records and is described by the band as their “attempt at trying to feel real again. It’s our way of asking, ‘What does it mean to be human when everything around you is pretending to be?’
“We’re trying to stay sane in a culture that is overexposed, exploitative and performative. There is a focus on wanting to be seen and wanting to disappear, on rage and resignation. Hypernormal isn’t a concept album – it’s what happens when you write music in a world that’s falling apart, and everyone calls it content. We are all normies now. Kiss the frog.”
Speaking specifically about frissoN, they simply state that, “It’s the 2008 financial crash. It’s the leaning into the collapse. Thank you, TechnoDaddy666, for helping us fight the aliens.”
