The absolute masters of naptime, Sparrow Sleeps, are back with a
new lullaby album for rock fans’ infants and toddlers (and the parents themselves, obvs).
Following reworkings by the likes of My Chemical Romance and
twenty one pilots, this time they’ve teamed up with Simple Plan for the
appropriately titled Still Not Getting Any Sleep album, which features 23 relaxing songs by the Canadian pop-punk favourites – everything
from old classics like I’m Just A Kid and Shut Up! to newer hits such as Iconic.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Simple Plan on this project,”
enthuses Sparrow Sleeps co-founder Casey Cole. “I discovered them working at Sam Goody in
2002, and I never imagined I’d get to collaborate with them 20+ years later.
Sparrow Sleeps is stoked to offer a new way for families to experience their
music together.”
The band themselves share in a lovely statement: “Even if our
kids are a little older now, we can still remember how special it was to hold
them in our arms and help them fall asleep. Some nights were more challenging
than others and showed us just how powerful music could be to help calm and
soothe babies and toddlers.
“As many of our fans are now becoming parents themselves, we
thought it would be awesome to share with them this really cool project. We
hope it will help families get some much-needed sleep and maybe introduce our
music to a whole new generation of listeners.”
