12-Year-Old Kid Given Permission To Skip Music Class To See Tool

Heroic teacher lets student go see Tool instead of attending class

Is this the coolest teacher ever? They let a student skip their practice in order to see Tool perform live.

Posting in the Tool subreddit, user Fear-Of-Music said that he wanted to take his 12-year-old son to see band perform in Houston, Texas, but needed to seek permission from his son’s music teacher.

Enter the raddest tutor ever.

Taking my 12 year old son to see Tool in Houston,” reads the Reddit post. My wife emailed his band director to make sure he wouldn’t miss any practice or rehearsal the next day. This was her response.”

And, it has to be said, this is the best response they could have hoped for.

If there is, TOOL is a GOOD reason to miss it,” responded the teacher by email. My only response, take me with you guys!”

They added: I am super jealous that he will have that opportunity and I will not punish him for missing for TOOL. How is he doing? Do you like their new album.”

How awesome is that?!

Tool recently released their fifth studio album Fear Inoculum after a thirteen year wait. Demand was so high for the physical version of the album, they’ve actually had to make some more.

The progressive metal titans are touring North America later this year at the dates below.
