Joe Cardamone, Formerly Of Icarus Line, Has Made A Solo Record And Thinks Bands Are Over

Joe Cardamone, formerly of The Icarus Line, has put together a solo record.

I don’t care about bands any more,” he told Clash earlier this year. “It just feels fucking retro. It just feels like an antiquated configuration and I understand that people enjoy seeing it, but to me, I’ve never been interested in doing any of this shit unless I feel like I’m fucking peeling the thing forward a little bit, even if I’m not but I need to feel like I am. That’s good enough for me.”

Peeling the thing forward a little bit” is a phrase that applies to Cardamone’s sound, certainly. A melange of spoken word, rap and industrial noise, it’s a fun ol’ ride that feels very ‘skeezy LA’. Give it a whirl:
