Mr. Bungle Announce Ho99o9, Cattle Decapitation, Melvins and More As February Show Openers
Earlier this year, Mike Patton-fronted circus metallers Mr. Bungle announced their first live shows in 20 years, during which the band will play their infamous demo The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny. While some assumed Bungle would perform solo, others wondered who the openers for these shows might be. Now, the bands opening for Mr. Bungle have been announced — and in classic Bungle fashion, they’re absolutely insane.
Here’s a breakdown of who will be opening for Mr. Bungle at each of their shows this February:
February 5 - Los Angeles, CA - Fonda Theatre
February 6 - Los Angeles, CA - Fonda Theatre
February 7 - Los Angeles, CA - Fonda Theatre
- The Melvins
February 8 - San Francisco, CA - Warfield Theatre
February 10 - Brooklyn, NY - Brooklyn Steel
February 11 - Brooklyn, NY - Brooklyn Steel

“Putting these shows together, it occurred to us that this was a great opportunity to expose unsuspecting audiences to some of the absolutely legendary thrash, death metal and hardcore bands that originally inspired us in the mid-’80s,” says Mr. Bungle multi-instrumentalist Trey Spruance. “And if we’re going to do that, why not re-unite with some of the equally legendary bands we were close with in the 90s? And why just concentrate on the past? Of the current bands that have taken some kind of inspiration from the heavier side of Mr. Bungle in doing their own thing, why not invite the select few that have managed to inspire us back?”
It should be noted that The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny isn’t very long, so fans should get ready for some Bungle classics to appear in the set come February.
