Weezer make fun of Pitchfork and aim for the Super Bowl halftime show on infectious new single

Watch Weezer perform their ace new song Tell Me What You Want live for the first time at Summer Game Fest 2021.

Because two full-length albums – OK Human and Van Weezer – clearly weren’t already enough in 2021, Weezer have just shared another new song: Tell Me What You Want.

As well as following a similar path to the excellent Van Weezer and keeping the guitars cranked up, Rivers Cuomo and co.’s latest effort reportedly had the band trending on Twitter as it was debuted live at Summer Game Fest 2021 on June 10, the band making fun of Pitchfork in the song’s opening verse following a 5.9 album review according to Music Feeds.

Don’t be influenced by an office full of dorks / I won’t mention any names…’ sings Rivers, before coughing and stating, Pitchfork.’ (Don’t worry, guys, Guns N’ Roses dissed us on Get In The Ring…). In the second verse, meanwhile, Weezer admit that they need a tastemaker to tell me which way to go / So I can play the halftime show at the Super Bowl.’

Tell Me What You Want is taken from the world’s first skateBOATING game”, Wave Break, which has its own Weezer-inspired Weezy Mode (which sounds excellent).
