Dropping early next month, experimental Dublin quartet The Scratch will be releasing their new album Mind Yourself…
The Scratch have announced a brand-new album, Mind Yourself.
Due out on November 3, the James Vincent McMorrow-produced record is the metal-loving acoustic quartet’s first since signing to Music For Nations, following their self-released debut Couldn’t Give A Rats in 2020.
They’ve already released a couple of tunes from the LP, too, in the form of Trom II (A Slip In The Wind) and the System Of A Down-inspired Blaggard.
Speaking about the latter, Daniel Lang says, “We have been working on the idea of this song for a few years. It’s vastly different to anything we as a band have written before. We played it for producer James Vincent McMorrow and engineer James Eager and their reaction gave us the confidence to go back into studio and finish it.”
Daniel adds that guitarist and vocalist Jordo “referenced DDevil by System Of A Down as a starting point and the song just flowed from there. Blaggard is aggressive, it’s bouncy, and the first of probably many a heavy banger to come in the future so get it right up ye.”
