Trash Talk's Babylon LA is Hosting a Pop-Up Skatepark This Weekend

Babylon LA, the clothing and skate brand run by Trash Talk’s Lee Spielman and Garrett Stevenson, is teaming up with Guess Jeans to put on a pop-up skatepark and “immersive experience” at LOT 5 in Los Angeles all day Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25. The brand’s ethos, as stated in a mini documentary about its history, has always been about giving back to the kids with the resources available to the band members now after years of hard work and touring, so it makes sense that they’d be involved in a project like this.

Lee has shared a few photos of the skatepark in progress on his Twitter:

To get an idea of what the brand collaboration is going for, you can check out this video, which Lee Spielman helped shoot as well:

Last time we caught up with Trash Talk, who have long since championed the enmeshing of hip-hop and hardcore worlds, they were on tour with fellow hardcore band Turnstile and a bunch of hip-hop acts like $uicideboy$, Denzel Curry, and City Morgue on the Grey Day tour. We caught their Coney Island stop, where we saw Lee Spielman put on a hell of a show by running through the entire amphitheater inciting mosh pits, standing fully upright to sing while crowd-surfing, and making fun of New York for its inferior weed to that of the West Coast. We were completely moved by the fact that in the future, heavy music might not have a need for genre. Brand collaborations like this make it obvious that idea is crossing over into the fashion world, too.

If you’re in LA and want to skate at the pop-up skatepark this weekend, you can head to the Guess site for more info.
