Anxious fight denial and heartbreak on new single, Don’t Move

Anxious have dropped a new single, Don’t Move.

Building on their second album Bambi, Don’t Move traces the story of the relationship that defined vocalist Grady Allen’s early twenties falling apart, which he then tried and failed to repair.

“It’s about disengaging with reality in hopes of reclaiming the bond you’ve lost with someone, but never feeling truly close in the process. Don’t Move is about knowing that feeling, but trying to ignore it in the hope that things will change,” he says.

“This song was the first song from a group of tracks I started writing at the end of last summer. There were no expectations for a record, or for a cohesive idea of what that would mean - it just felt like there was a lot of space for, ‘Let's just put together whatever comes naturally and see what happens.' The bridge for this song came first and I was trying to channel some of the atmospheric building action that happens a lot on the B-side of Jimmy Eat World's Clarity. I was also super inspired by Armlock, probably my favorite new band of the last several years. Their layered acoustic guitars and vocals was something I was trying to pull off on the bridge."
