Black Peaks Postpone Tour Due To Serious Illness

Black Peaks have been forced to cancel their upcoming UK and European headline tour.

The band were due to head out across the UK on October 3 before a trek across mainland Europe with Jamie Lenman, but have made the decision to postpone the tour due to the ill health of vocalist Will Gardner.

Posting on social media today (October 1), the band say: "This is not a message we want to write, but after the last few months we feel it necessary to be fully detailed and entirely honest with you all.

"On Sunday our brother Will rang us to tell us that following a pre-tour check up, his doctor informed him the initial infection which led to his near-death experience earlier this year had returned. The result was that he has had to be scheduled for emergency surgery, and will be out of action for at least 6 weeks.

"This is not only terrible and frightening news on a personal level, it obviously overlaps with the entirety of our upcoming UK and Europe headline tour.

"We have been racking our brains to try to come up with a solution, or a potential way of continuing with the tour, but in reality we as a band do not want to give anyone a sub-par performance. There is no easy way to say this, but the decision between the band and our team is to reschedule the dates until we are sure that Will is recovered.

"To have this news just before the tour starting is devastating and we’re all still processing this. We hope you all appreciate this was not an easy decision to make, and can only thank you for your continued support and understanding

"We will be back, and the rescheduled dates will happen. More info will come when we have a full timeline on Will’s recovery.

"Tickets for all shows will be valid for rescheduled dates, but if you'd like refunds they will be available from point of sale, please contact vendors for details.

"Thank you all."

Kerrang! would like to wish Will a fast and full recovery.
