“This is bloody insane…” See Bring Me The Horizon accept the award for Alternative/Rock Act at this year’s BRITs.
Last night (March 2), Bring Me The Horizon won the award for Alternative/Rock Act at the 2024 BRITs.
The band were in attendance at The O2 in London to pick up the trophy from presenters Luke Evans and Marisa Abela, having come up top against their competitors in the category, Blur, The Rolling Stones, Young Fathers and Yussef Dayes.
And as well as a big celebration it was also a bit of a rule-breaking occasion for BMTH, with ITV1 having to censor parts of their speech as frontman Oli Sykes instantly said to himself, “Fucking hell.”
Oli then went on to add: “We don’t know what to say because we didn’t think we’d be winning this, at all. Cheers to the BRITs for making the voting system so complicated only our fans could be arsed to vote (laughs).”
Swearing again, he continued, “Thanks to our fans, because they voted. This is fucking – this is bloody insane, this. Cheers to our management, family, all that stuff. Thank you so much, cheers.”
