DevilDriver are offering a hit of positivity with their new single Dead In The Water.

The song is the second single from their forthcoming album Strike And Kill, following April’s Dig Your Own Grave, and it sees Dez Fafara and co. both bringing a tidal wave of energy and some words of encouragement: ‘Hope is never wasted/Choose to rise!’

“This is one of the most positive songs I’ve ever written lyrically, coming from a very dark time straight into blinding light. I needed to empower others to do the same as I did, and tell them to ‘stay the course,’ life turns around if given the chance to flourish," says Dez.

“The vibe musically on this is very old school DevilDriver and the entire band is cracking hard here, if you're a long time listener you're gonna love this one! Enjoy!”

Give it a spin here:

When the album was announced, Dez said: “My headspace hasn’t changed, I have not become complacent or soft in my view of the world or in my music. Metal is our outlet as listeners and writers, so on this record we focused on ‘getting it all out’ lyrically, and backing those lyrics with savage, relentless music that fuels the heavy California groove like no other. DevilDriver has never sounded like any other band, we do our own thing in our own way, and I’m the most proud of that.

“I’m so proud of these musicians, this music and the vibe around this record. DevilDriver sounds like no-one else out there right now, we are here to Strike And Kill!”
