Are Faith No More making a comeback in 2027?

Potentially epic news (ahem) is on the way from the Faith No More camp, despite its members repeatedly casting doubt over their future in recent months.

There’s been some unexpected rumblings in the Faith No More camp, with the suggestion arising that they could be reuniting next year.

The band shared an image to their Instagram of their star logo imposed upon a photo of a crowd with the caption ‘2027’. Could we finally be seeing them return to the stage?

The band haven’t played live together since 2016 and their planned shows in 2020 were scrapped due to Covid. After being postponed to the following year, they were cancelled altogether due to vocalist Mike Patton’s struggles with his mental health. He later confirmed he was diagnosed with agoraphobia during the pandemic.

Following this, the chances of another Faith No More reunion looked rather slim. Even just a few months ago, Mike suggested the band was done for good.

Speaking on Consequence‘s Kyle Meredith With… podcast, he agreed that he felt a “sense of closure” after the 2016 tour. “I didn’t really think so at the time, but, yeah, maybe,” he said. “I think that we all kind of felt it, but it was unspoken.”

“It’s funny: when you’ve been in a band or a musical situation for a period of time, you always, in the back of your head, you’re kind of thinking, ‘Well, maybe this is it.’ And I don’t mind that feeling,” he added. “I don’t see it as a sad thing. I see it as being present and being able to really appreciate it while it’s happening.”

Prior to that, keyboardist Roddy Bottum said last year that the band was in “a really weird spot” and he wasn’t sure how their future would pan out. Drummer Mike Bordin also cast doubt on any future activity a few months later, suggesting that Mike Patton was “clearly unwilling to do shows with us” because he was touring with Mr Bungle again but not Faith No More.

Something big must have changed if they’re going back on the road. Stay tuned for more as and when we have it.
