Greta Van Fleet say their new album will be “something quite different” from Anthem Of The Peaceful Army.
Greta Van Fleet have teased that their new record – the follow-up to 2018's Anthem Of The Peaceful Army – will be “something quite different” from their debut, and that there will be "a little evolution".
Speaking to NME at Spain's Mad Cool Festival over the weekend, Greta Van Fleet's Jake and Sam Kiszka haven't given too much away just yet about album number two – expected to arrive by the end of the year – but they both alluded to some key changes from their first full-length.
“We’re working on something quite different," says guitarist Jake. “It’s interesting, because we never know exactly what an album is going to look like – it can only be so premeditated. But as it sort of unfolds now, it’s an example of where we are musically right now. It’s definitely much different than Anthem of the Peaceful Army would have been."
Bassist Sam continues: “I think it’s really the next step in the evolution of what we want to do… I think as far as the intent goes, it’s just incorporating more sounds, more tones, more styles of music, perhaps, and taking a step in the cinematic direction.”
Earlier in the year, Greta Van Fleet won Best Rock Album at this year's GRAMMYs for their From The Fires record.
