Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine passes one billion Spotify streams

Just in case Guns N’ Roses were worrying about whether or not they had a hit on their hands with Sweet Child O’ Mine, good news: it’s just passed a billion streams on Spotify.

The song from their 1987 Appetite For Destruction debut album takes the band into the billion stream club, alongside Post Malone, twenty one pilots, Cardi B, Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran. Two years ago, the song’s video passed the landmark on YouTube.

All of which puts it some way ahead of sort-of new track Absurd, officially released last week, which has so far racked up 397,000 plays on the platform. Do that 2,000-and-a-bit more times and it’ll be on equal pegging.

Guns are currently on tour in North America. Catch them at one of the dates below.
