Mayhem Announce New Album On Century Media Records

In all of black metal's long and checkered history, Mayhem will forever be the most iconic and identifiable band within the genre. Through death, scandal, and countless line-up changes, the band have soldiered on, all while producing some of the most evil songs ever written. Now, Mayhem have announced that they have signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records, and that they will be releasing a new album in 2019.

"Once again Mayhem is writing a new chapter in its 35 year history," said the band in a public statement via a press release from the label. "We are excited to now have joined forces with Century Media and are eager to see what this partnership can do for us both in the future."

The as-of-yet-untitled new album is set to drop October 25th, and will be followed up by a European tour with Gaahl's WYRD and Gost. The tour kicks off Halloween, so make sure to pay homage to the death of the year at one of the following dates:

Discussing the band's lasting stylistic legacy in an interview with Kerrang!, Mayhem bassist Necrobutcher said, "We’ve always been of the same style: black, full of studs, leather jackets. And some of the photos are in public places, so you can see how the different styles come and go. It’s a funny thing – I’m in style every 10 years! (laughs)”
