After praising YUNGBLUD in April for making him "think there is still a bit of life in rock'n'roll", Mick Jagger gifted the young rock star a very special guitar at a recent Rolling Stones show.

Backstage at the Stones' gig in Anfield on Thursday, June 9 (the band's first in Liverpool since 1971!), the frontman and ambassador for The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation welcomed YUNGBLUD into the charity with an extraordinary gift: a Gibson J-45 guitar inspired by the six-stringer that Buddy wrote many of his most iconic songs on. Specifically, this brilliant-looking guitar is called Blue Suede Shoes, as each of the TBHEF guitars are named after a song the rock'n'roll pioneer recorded.

After the gig, Mick tweeted, "Amazing show in Liverpool last night and great to meet YUNGBLUD too!", while Dom posted, "Thank you for a beautiful night. a masterclass in rock'n'roll. always meet ur heroes!!!"

Wholesome, lovely stuff.

In other news, YUNGBLUD recently announced that his new, self-titled album will be released on September 2 via LOCOMOTION / Polydor Records.

“Everything up to this moment has been a complete explosion of uncensored expression, where I just told the truth and sang about what I felt in that exact moment,” he shared of the record.

“the difference here is that i have thought and felt this record so deeply. i went to a part of myself that I didn’t know was there. i studied it, i bathed in the emotion, tried to solve the equation and come up with an answer (at least for now) from love to pain, adoration to abandonment, laughter to betrayal. my message is the same, it will always be; i will continue to be nothing but myself and encourage others to do the same. there is simply no other option.

“i hope it provides my beautiful family who have followed me throughout this journey answers about themselves but also questions and challenges, but most importantly I hope it fills them with love. you have provided me with an antidote for the emptiness and loneliness I’ve felt in the past. you have given me a voice. so here is my story.

“why did i call it YUNGBLUD? because nothing in my life has ever made more sense.”
