Album review: Nails – Every Bridge Burning
After eight long years, American psychos Nails return to unrepentantly grind you into the ground…
“When you push play, you get smacked in the face…” Listen to Nails’ new single Imposing Will, the opening track from their long-awaited fourth album Every Bridge Burning.
Nails have just announced the follow-up to 2016’s spectacular You Will Never Be One Of Us.
The band – whose current line-up is completed by vocalist/guitarist Todd Jones, drummer Carlos Cruz, bassist Andrew Solis and guitarist Shelby Lermo – are set to release their fourth album, Every Bridge Burning, on August 30 via Nuclear Blast.
The 10-track LP was once again done with the mighty Kurt Ballou at his God City Studio, with Todd enthusing, “We’ve recorded every album with Kurt. He’s such an important ingredient as to how we present our music. When our fans want to hear Nails, they want to hear something that is through the filter of Kurt’s engineering.”
To tease what’s to come, the band have shared album opener Imposing Will, which their frontman calls “special to the record in that I knew we wanted it to be the opener. We wanted it to have the effect of an urgency; an immediacy in the music itself. When you push play, you get smacked in the face.”
