Album review: Nails – Every Bridge Burning
After eight long years, American psychos Nails return to unrepentantly grind you into the ground…
Fuming Mouth, Inter Arma, 200 Stab Wounds and Rezn have also been added to the Manchester metal fest…
Cradle Of Filth will headline this year's edition of Damnation Festival.
The Brit black metal legends will top the bill at Manchester Bowlers Exhibition Centre on November 2 with a special "old school ritual performance", marking 30 years since their The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh debut and 20 since Nymphetamine.
"Cradle Of Filth have been an iconic part of the UK extreme metal landscape for the past three decades so our paths crossing has been long overdue," says organiser Gavin McInally.
"Given Damnation now has the scale to offer the theatre of the band's live show the space it deserves, I'm sure this will be the most eye-catching performance we've had the pleasure of hosting.
"The fact the soundtrack to that theatre will be their old school black metal classics, and the hits we grew up with on MTV2 and Scuzz, will mean a memorable close to the 2024 festival."
Also in the announcement are rising death metallers Fuming Mouth and 200 Stab Wounds, Virginia post-sludge heroes Inter Arma, and Chicago stoners REZN.
"Fans have been calling for the return of Inter Arma since they packed Leeds in 2019 so we're delighted to have them with us in Manchester," says Gav, adding "Fuming Mouth and 200 Stab Wounds represent some of the most exciting new death metal coming out of America right now.
"As always we like to keep the bill as eclectic as possible, and if getting lost in a dreamy stoner riff is more your vibe, REZN fortunately have an arsenal of them."
They join a bill already loaded with heaviness including Gatecreeper, Nails, Ahab, Russian Circles and Bleeding Through performing This Is Love, This Is Murderous.
