“Our lovergirl era is on”: Stand Atlantic return with new single Velcro

Stand Atlantic will have something new to play at Slam Dunk this weekend in the form of the freshly released single Velcro.

Arriving via Virgin Music Group, Velcro is the band’s first new music since they dropped the deluxe edition of their most recent album WAS HERE last year.

“I’ve spent 10 years avoiding love songs and writing only about what ended in heartbreak. On Velcro, that curse is finally broken,” says vocalist Bonnie Fraser. “It’s the most honest thing I’ve written in a long time - after a really intense period of writer’s block, so recording it live, raw and unfiltered felt like the only way to do it. The curse is officially broken, the gates are open, our lovergirl era is on, and Velcro says you’re welcome.”

While they’re over here for Slam Dunk, Stand Atlantic will be stopping by the K! Pit on May 26. There’s still time to try and win a spot, but you’ll have to be quick as entries close tomorrow (May 22) at 10am.

They’ll also be on our shores again in October opening for Simple Plan at Manchester’s O2 Apollo and London’s Wembley Arena.
