It's been a whole year since we lost metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, and his widow Sharon and daughter Kelly have given emotional tributes to the Black Sabbath vocalist.
Today marks a year since the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, and his family have spoken about his legacy and their grief to commemorate the occasion.
The Prince of Darkness passed away just weeks after his final performance at last year’s legendary Back to The Beginning concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park. He was 76 years old, and it was later confirmed that he died after suffering a heart attack, with coronary heart disease and Parkinson's disease also listed on his death certificate.
In an interview with BBC Radio West Midlands today, his widow Sharon says she hopes people "remember how funny he was - funny and charismatic and real" and that they play his music loud to honour him.
“As Ozzy would say, 'When you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang'."
She adds: "He never tried to be anything other than what he was, and he would tell you the truth about everything and that was him, you knew where you were with him.
"He was just genuine, so genuine and funny. I mean we could have the worst arguments in the world but we would end up laughing because he would say something so ridiculous that we would just crack up."
Meanwhile, Ozzy’s daughter Kelly also shared an emotional tribute to him on Instagram.
“One year ago today, the world changed forever,” she writes.
“Today, I sit here beside you in a way I never thought would be possible. I know you are still with me.
‘I feel you in the quiet, in the wind, in every song that stops me in my tracks, [in] the smell of your cologne and in every moment that love outweighs grief. You are all around me.’
Explaining that losing Ozzy had been the “hardest thing I have ever had to endure, she adds: “Now all I have are memories. But my God, what beautiful memories they are. Even through all the madness we lived through, you somehow made every moment worthwhile.”
“I have never loved anyone or anything as deeply as uniquely as I love you.”
