Palaye Royale, Carpenter Brut, YONAKA and more to salute Smashing Pumpkins on forthcoming tribute album

Smashing Pumpkins will receive the tribute album treatment this summer, with Sumerian Records announcing an all-star album of covers of their biggest bangers, performed by Carpenter Brut, YONAKA, Palaye Royale and a load more.

The album has the personal thumbs up from Pumpkins mainman Billy Corgan himself, who named it after a lyric from Siamese Dream classic Mayonaise. It drops digitally on August 14, with vinyl editions following on October 16.

The first cut to be released sees Australian alt hero Tame Impala adding his own spin to old favourite Hummer. Speaking about what it means to him, mainman Kevin Parker said, "Siamese Dream was the soundtrack to my high school years and Hummer is the song that takes me back there in the most potent way."
