Here's a map to show shops who’re still sending out mail-order music
Had things gone to plan, this coming Saturday, April 18, we should have been foregoing our weekend lie-in to queue early outside our local independent record shop to grab Record Store Day releases. Sadly, due to COVID-19, RSD has been moved to June 20, we have to stay at home and listen to music there on Saturday instead.
But though you’ll have to wait a bit longer for the chance to get your mitts on special RSD releases by the likes of Alice Cooper, Asking Alexandria, The Menzingers, Black Sabbath (and, um, the soundtrack to Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me), plenty of shops are still serving music fans by mail.
With record shops being for life, not just for special release day, fans are being encouraged to ‘Fill The Gap’ (#RSDFillTheGap) in their collection by ordering the ones they’re missing from stores that are still operating. To make it easier to know where to order from, the good people of The Official Charts Company have put together a handy map showing RSD-affiliated indies in the UK who will get musical goodness to your ears through the post.
